Inspiring adults with learning disabilities

Our Oakwood branch is located within a mile of the historic market town of Hexham in the Tyne Valley.

It is home to our unique commercial bakery project, where service-users produce cakes and biscuits to sell on a weekly market stall in Hexham.

We run a café where service-users can gain catering, monetary and service skills while providing healthy home-cooked meals. These can be purchased by service-users and staff at lunchtime.

Oakwood has a modern PC suite with full broadband internet access and the opportunity to learn multi-media and computerskills.

Many community activities are accessed through our independent living skills programme - such as swimming, keep-fit, leisure walks and recycling. We make full use of the excellent facilities Hexham and the surrounding areas have to offer.

We run music,craft and healthy living sessions allowing our service-users freedom to express their creative talents.

Oakwood is the main management and administration centre for the organisation.
